Vipul Saha

Vipul is an educator and wellbeing facilitator committed to holistic, experiential learning. Raised in a small village in India, he journeyed from a Marathi medium school to completing a master's in psychology at Harvard. Deeply influenced by his grandfather's Gandhian values and early mindfulness practices like Vipassana, Vipul’s path has been shaped by self-inquiry and service. He has worked with youth across India through initiatives like Teach for India, Ashoka, and Swaraj University, exploring social entrepreneurship, Ayurveda, and eco-conscious living. His experiences span rural, urban, and indigenous communities, integrating education, mental health, and sustainability. Inspired by the teachings of J. Krishnamurti and Buddhist psychology, Vipul sees education as a path to inner transformation and envisions a kinder, greener, and more joyful world.

Urmila Samson

Urmila Samson is a pioneering unschooling parent and a key figure in India’s alternative education movement. Based in Pune, she has unschooled her three children into adulthood and has been instrumental in building community support for homeschooling and unschooling families. She co-founded Swashikshan – Indian Association of Homeschoolers and has organized numerous gatherings and online sessions to connect families pursuing alternative living and learning paths. Her journey began in a pre-internet era, where she intuitively kept her children out of school, later discovering her approach aligned more with unschooling than traditional homeschooling. Inspired by international and national events, she initiated India’s first national homeschoolers' conference and the Pune Urban Village Gathering. From 2014 to 2017, she was deeply involved with educational leadership movements and currently supports Enterprise India Fellowship in creating innovative higher education models. Passionate about youth wellbeing, she is also active in The Joyful Schools Program, bringing arts, play, and healing practices into mainstream education spaces.

Many other people and volunteers have contributed to this project. We express sincere gratitude to all those efforts 🙏
